Schools Partnership Programme

Creating Children’s Books from Local History
& Community Stories

At Westmoor Coast Press Ltd, we believe every town, village and coastline holds stories worth preserving.

Stories That Shape Us

We are inviting primary schools and community groups to partner with us to create beautifully produced children’s books inspired by:

  • Local history

  • Community stories

  • Real people who shaped the area

  • Cultural traditions and heritage

  • Landscapes and landmarks

  • Intergenerational memories

This is not about mass production.
It is about meaningful storytelling rooted in place.

Why Work With Us?

Children research and retell the stories of their own town — building pride, identity and belonging.

Our Vision

We aim to create a growing collection of children’s books that celebrate:

  • The coastal villages of Cornwall and Devon, full of colour and character

  • Mining heritage and the stories of the communities it shaped

  • Fishing villages and maritime traditions along our shores

  • Rural farming life and the rhythms of the countryside

  • Migration and settlement stories, connecting past and present

  • Everyday heroes and remarkable community members

  • Family traditions and memories, passed down through generations

Each school’s story becomes a living part of a wider archive of local voices, preserving the spirit of the region for future generations.
